Baseball, bracelets, and books!
Thanks to the Friends of the Berlin Public Library and BMS Link, we were able to hand out 95 pairs of eclipse glasses. Whether you stayed home or traveled, we hope you enjoyed the day!
As a reminder, the library will be closed on Monday, April 15th in observance of Patriots Day. We reopen Tuesday at 11am, and we’ve planned multiple activities to stay busy during April Vacation, keep reading to learn more!

What's going on this week at the Berlin Public Library?
Upcoming Story Times
We will not have a Story Time on Monday 4/15 as we will be closed for the holiday. Monday Story Time will be back the following week, 4/22!
April Vacation
On Tuesday we will be learning about Fire Safety from our special guests Firefighter Michelle and Smokey Bear, and kicking off our Smokey Bear Reading Challenge! The challenge is designed for ages 4-10, but we invite anybody to participate.
Are you excited for Taylor Swift’s new album The Tortured Poets Department? And did you know that April is National Poetry Month? We’ll be celebrating both of these events by making our own blackout poetry on Wednesday and friendship bracelets on Thursday, while listening to a Taylor Swift playlist, of course. Teens ages 13-17 are welcome to drop in and join us!
Finally on Saturday, kids and their caregivers can stop by the library to make their own rain stick, and see what different sounds they can discover using different materials. Best for ages 12 and under.
Teen Advisory Board
Do you know a teen looking for a volunteer opportunity? The Berlin Public Library is now accepting applications for a Teen Advisory Board. Participating teens will suggest books and other materials to add to our collection and brainstorm teen activities and events, while earning volunteer hours! Applications are available at the library or online here.
