What's going on at the Berlin Public Library?
Welcome to our new librarian, Hadley!
The Berlin Public Library is so excited to welcome our newest staff member Hadley Roberts. Ms. Hadley is joining us as the Youth Services Librarian and her duties will include selecting materials and designing programs for library users ages 0-18, and their caretakers. Here is a quick introduction from Ms. Hadley:
I am so thrilled to be the new youth services librarian in Berlin. My name is Hadley Roberts. Some people in town may recognize me from my previous work with the Item, while others have seen me on the soccer field at BMS or at an event at Tahanto, supporting one of my children.
I have been working in libraries in a professional capacity for about 5 years, starting as a volunteer at the library at BMS and then working in Clinton and Leominster. I received my MLIS from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 2022. I am passionate about public outreach, library programming, and reader’s advisory.
I am excited to work with families and all the community stakeholders to expand the impact the library can have on the young people of Berlin. I want to hear from you. If you have an idea of a program you would like to see run in the children’s room, please reach out to me at [email protected]. And, I look forward to meeting all of you!
Story Time with Jax
Come join the Berlin Public Library for story time. This week, we will have special guests from the Berlin Police Department - Sgt. Gilchrest, K-9 Jax, and Abigail Vianna, The Public Safety Office Administrative Assistant!
Weather permitting, story time will be in the Berlin Public Library gardens.
Upcoming Book Sale
The Friends of the Berlin Public Library are now accepting donated books for their book sale in September. Donations of new and gently used books may be brought into the library during operating hours to be left with staff. For more information about what books will be accepted, please see the flyer below or contact the library. If you are interested in assisting with book sales or other fundraising efforts, pick up a Friends application at the library or print one off of our website.
