Tuesday 3/24 @ 6pm: Gardner Museum Heist: HAS ANYONE SEEN $500 MILLION IN ART LYING AROUND? An hour after 1990 St. Patrick’s Day, two men dressed as Boston cops entered the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, stayed for 90 minutes and left with 13 pieces of art. None of the priceless items have been found although one was seen. No one has been charged. The museum continues to post a $10 million reward. This presentation will review Isabella’s role in the theft, details about the suspects, and the motives behind the world’s most valued art theft. Bob Ainsworth, CPA and author, will also tell of his many brushes with the infamous crime.
Check out a Historic New England museum pass from the library and visit the Lyman Estate to see Camellia Days February 24th-March 24th!
