Upcoming Programs
Diane’s Let’s Go Eco Show! celebrates all the simple things we can do to help our beloved planet. Both educational and entertaining, these participatory narratives explore water conservation, recycling and the wonder of the creatures all around us. Learning about water conservation has never been more fun than in Diane’s hilarious story: “What now, Cloacina?” about a water sprite who travels through the sewage system in search of her pond. “The Tailor!” a participatory folktale, has us all joining in as we learn once more to make something out of nothing and a lyrical story about a childhood encounter with fireflies brings the beauty of the natural world alive. What shines through the show is a love and respect for our place in nature; with many ideas communicated about how we can create a difference.
Kids of all ages are welcome at this program!
Have you ever brushed a rabbit? Or spun wool from it’s fibers? We’ll be doing just that on July 31st. Participants will even get to take home a spindle and some fiber to keep practicing! This program is great for all ages, though younger kids may need more help. Registration is required.
The Native Americans used a hunter-gatherer model for centuries before agriculture was brought to their land. They knew how to find and prepare many foods from the wild, foods that still exist and are readily available today. Would you survive a natural disaster or zombie apocalypse? This program will show you the foods in your own backyard that you can survive on, even in winter.

Summer Reading Book Clubs for Teens and Adults
Registration is open for our summer reading book clubs! Each month this summer, adults and teens will read a book that matches the theme Read, Renew, Repeat, and then we’ll come together to discuss what we thought about the book. Readers can sign up for one month, or for all three. Once you register, we will request a copy of the book on your behalf.
Our summer reading program is running until August 15th. Find more information about how to participate at berlin.cwmars.org/summerreading.
