Upcoming events and new materials
Click here to see all upcoming programs and register. Registrations help us plan our space and materials appropriately for all of our programs.
If programs do not have registered attendees 3 days prior, the program may be cancelled. Please register for events that you think you would like to attend. If a scheduling conflict arises, you can unregister with no penalty. Thank you for helping us prepare the appropriate amount of materials and respect the time of the outside groups we partner with to bring you programs.

Monday 11/3 @ 10am: Storytime: Artsy: Join Ms. Hadley in the Children's Room on Monday mornings. We’ll read some stories, make some crafts, sing, groove, and play to start our week.
Monday 11/3 @ 5pm: Pony Bead Party: A once-a-month meet up where teens will craft items made from stretchy cord and pony beads. Try a new design, make a gift for a friend, or perfect your technique. For middle and high schoolers, 11-17.
Tuesday 11/4 @ 1-3pm: Drop-in Tech Help: Drop by for basic computer navigation, basic smartphone and tablet use, general internet instruction, and how to use electronic library resources (like Libby).
Wednesday 11/5 @ 10:30am: Young Scientists: “Young Scientists” is facilitated by STEM Beginnings, a company in Shrewsbury with a mission to create fun-filled and exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) classes for children, and hosted by local libraries. Children, ages 3-6, with a parent/caregiver, learn STEM concepts through hands-on activities, a story and simple experiments. Registration is required.
“Young Scientists” is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership (YFCP), a Massachusetts Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant program funded by the Department of Early Education & Care and awarded to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.
Thursday 11/6 @ 6pm: Board Game Night: Bring a favorite game to share with new friends, or come ready to learn a new board game. All are welcome at this monthly program!
Monday 11/10 @ 6pm: Preparing Your Garden for Winter: It's that time of year again! Time to rake, cut back, weed, divide, clear debris, mulch, overwinter, prepare new beds, plant bulbs, and protect your tender evergreens and newer plantings from winter hazards. In other words - another beautiful autumn in New England! Sponsored by the Friends of the Berlin Public Library.
Wednesday 11/12 @ 12pm: Lunch and Learn Homeschool Group: Homeschoolers and their families can get together to play and talk. Facilitated by our youth services librarian, Hadley Roberts, who was a homeschool parent for many years.
Thursday 11/13 @ 6pm: Tackling Your College Essays: College applications are right around the corner! Join Sam Garrity, M.Ed., professional writing tutor (and one of the current Berlin Public Library assistants) with over 10+ years experience, to learn about tackling your college application essay. This event will focus on how to approach application essays and use a writer's authentic voice to stand out in their applications.
